Our Veterinary Team

Jim is the reason why we are all here! Dr. Jim Wilcox opened Laurel Hill Veterinary Service in 1969 from his home on Laurel Hill Rd, originally focusing on dairy animals. His commitment has always been to offer only the highest quality of veterinary medicine as possible, coupled with compassion and extraordinary customer service. Jim has always enjoyed teaching and spreading his knowledge, and we are grateful for his abundance of wisdom and guidance throughout the years. Although he is now retired from seeing patients, he is still here every day behind the scenes working in his office. He is one of the kindest people that we know, and we appreciate him more than we can honestly put into words. From all of us here: Thank you, Jim!

Dr. Andy Wilcox has been one of our amazing veterinarians for 17 years now! Not only does Dr. Andy see appointments, but he is also our well-rounded surgeon. To be honest, we think he is part magician tackling surgeries three days a week! Whether he is performing a dental, wrangling goats, baking cinnamon buns, or cracking jokes, he’s always teaching us and is a great team player. We all appreciate his down-to-earth manner and enjoy having him as one of our doctors!

Dr. Lesley Flora has been one of our fantastic veterinarians for 11 years now!  She sees the majority of our appointments on a daily basis.  Dr. Lesley goes above and beyond with helping clients get to the bottom of complicated cases. Whether she is consulting Internal Medicine cases with our referral hospitals, helping our technicians take radiographs, or cuddling all the beagles that walk through our door, she excels in everything she does.  We appreciate all that she does for our clients and enjoy having her as one of our doctors!

Tim is our dedicated office manager that has been a member of the team for about 24 years!  He is our “commander in chief” who keeps us all in check! Whether he is caring for his bees, looking for new aquatic creatures, running bloodwork, picking on us, or scouting for the best bargains for our clients, he is always hard at work! 

Lisa is one of our amazing vet technicians that has been with us for 10 years!  Lisa doesn’t only just work hard full-time here, but she is also a full-time farmer!  That alone explains a lot! Her love for cows (and kitties) is immense. She is a great team player, and we enjoy having her as part of our crew! 

Sarah is one of the fantastic vet technicians that has been with us full-time for about 6 years!  Sarah’s love for goats, chickens, or any other type of critter is limitless!  From helping with surgeries to assisting the doctors with appointments, she always has a contagious smile on her face!  Sarah is so incredibly kind, and our patients absolutely LOVE her (and so do we)!  She is an irreplaceable asset to our team, and we are lucky to have her. 

Erica has been a part of the team for about 10 years! She was one of our full-time technicians for a few years after she graduated from Alfred State, then became a full-time mom and dairy farmer! Although we miss her when she is not here, Erica is still our go-to gal for when a helping hand is needed and will fill in whenever she is available.  She is always hard at work, and we appreciate all that she does.  Erica makes it a point to cuddle every beagle that comes to see us!

Kacy has been a part of our team for about 7 years now!  Whether she is answering phones, helping the techs and doctors, discharging surgeries, or updating our FB page, she is always floating where help is needed.  She makes it a point to try and cuddle every golden retriever that walks through our door.  Kacy is always smiling, and her charismatic personality always keeps us laughing.  She is a team player and a great asset to our work family.
